Abstract

The ultrasonic and viscosity measurements of Zirconyl Laurate in benzene-methanol mixture (4:1 v/v) have been at carried out at constant temperature and the result were used to evaluate the critical micelle concentration (CMC), soap-solvent interaction and various allied parameters. The values of CMC for zirconyl laurate obtained from the ultrasonic measurements are in agreement with the results obtained from viscosity measurements. The various acoustic parameters (adiabatic compressibility, intermolecular free length, specific acoustic impedance, solvation number, apparent molar compressibility, molar sound velocity and molar sound compressibility) for zirconyl laurate have been evaluated by ultrasonic measurements. The results of viscosity measurements have been explained in terms of well known equations.
